Often when we examine brands at the top of watchmaking, one of the criticisms is their seemingly nonchalant attitude toward designing genuine women's watches. It is, unfortunately, the case that a lot of watchmakers will just make men's offerings smaller and give them feminine dials, but Patek Philippe can certainly not be accused of such a thing. Instead, they have created the Twenty-4 collection so that it can occupy their catalog as a true women's-focused timepiece that can easily stand on its own design merits. First launched in 1999, it has become incredibly popular thanks to its Art Deco-inspired design that often blended diamonds and beautiful dial options with precious metals. Debuting in the mid 2000s, the ref. 4908/30R that we have features all three of those tenets with an 18kt rose gold construction that features a plethora of diamonds tracing along its Art-Deco-inspired silhouette and a gorgeous dial. In keeping with the Twenty-4’s rectangular design, it features a diamond-set bezel and a stunning sunburst chocolate brown dial complete with applied Roman numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock and diamond set markers everywhere else. Fitted with a stylish bracelet with diamonds all along it that showcases the same objectively excellent craftsmanship as the rest of the timepiece, this Twenty-4 is the ultimate example of what a watchmaker can achieve when they create a watch specifically for women and not just redesign a ore-existing men’s watch.
