Introduction
Founded in 1874 by a young 19-year-old in the village of La Côte-aux-Fées, Piaget was originally nothing but a means for Georges Piaget to earn some extra money as he worked on movements and watches during the winter. After decades of producing watches for other brands, it was not until 1943 that the watchmaker would begin to sign their own watches and develop as the famed watchmaker that they are today. From then on, Piaget began to experiment with ultra-thin watches and push both horological and design boundaries, which eventually led to the brand expanding into jewelry in 1959, perhaps the brand’s best-known avenue today. With their impeccable craftsmanship, audacious style, and dedication to the spectacular, Piaget’s timepieces and jewelry began to coalesce, resulting in timepieces much like the ref. 6826 K15 that we have here. Measuring 22mm wide and 26mm tall and hosting an incredibly intricate 18k yellow gold construction, this timepiece is a wonderful synthesis of Piaget’s distinctive exclusivity and rich horological aesthetic. Featuring an 18kt yellow gold mesh bracelet attached to its oval-shaped case, this timepiece is extravagance at its very finest. Boasting a diamond-set bezel atop its case with 0.75ct of diamonds and a stunning brown Tiger’s Eye stone dial, this timepiece is a further continuation of Piaget’s distinctive jeweler’s touch with its impeccable craftsmanship and overall beauty.

Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The gold mid-case shows light scratches consistent with age. The diamond-set bezel is in excellent condition, with all stones secure and settings well-preserved. The yellow gold case back features crisp hallmarks and engravings. The tiger’s eye hardstone dial is excellent, showing only a couple of light surface marks. The yellow gold hands are very clean. The integrated yellow gold bracelet has light surface marks and is fitted with a ‘P’-signed clasp. The bracelet currently fits a 6” wrist.
Our Perspective
Showcasing how vibrant design and incredible craftsmanship can combine to create a wonderfully unique watch, this timepiece is a great reminder of how Piaget has been able to grow into the watchmaker and jeweler it has today in what is a relatively short period of time, compared to plenty of others in the industry, at least.
