Introduction
Founded in 1874 by a young 19-year-old in the village of La Côte-aux-Fées, Piaget was originally nothing but a means for Georges Piaget to earn some extra money as he worked on movements and watches during the winter. After decades of producing watches for other brands, it was not until 1943 that the watchmaker would begin to sign their own watches and develop as the famed watchmaker that they are today. From then on, Piaget began to experiment with ultra-thin watches and push both horological and design boundaries, which eventually led to the brand expanding into jewelry in 1959, perhaps the brand’s best-known avenue today. With their impeccable craftsmanship, audacious style, and dedication to the spectacular, Piaget’s timepieces and jewelry began to coalesce, resulting in timepieces much like the ref. 8192/K91 that we have here. Measuring 21mm in diameter and hosting an incredibly intricate 18kt yellow gold construction, this timepiece is a wonderful synthesis of Piaget’s distinctive exclusivity and rich horological aesthetic. Featuring a diamond-set 18kt yellow gold bracelet attached to its oval-shaped case, this timepiece is extravagance at its very finest. Boasting a stunning dark green stone diamond-set dial, this timepiece is a further continuation of Piaget’s distinctive jeweler’s touch with its impeccable craftsmanship and overall beauty.

THE DIAL
Featuring a very dark green/black dial with some spots of naturally cloudy inclusions, this example's stone dial is tremendously mysterious, but with its diamond-set hour markers, it is perfectly suited to this luxurious watch.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Featuring an 18kt yellow gold construction for its case and integrated bracelet, the ref. 8296 that we have here is immediately opulent, with its diamond-set bezel and bracelet links setting it off luxuriously.

THE PROFILE
Powered by a quartz movement, this timepiece is wonderfully thin and wears close to the wrist thanks to its low profile.
Condition
Watch is in overall near-mint condition. The yellow gold case and bracelet show light signs of careful wear, with light surface scratches and scuffs visible in places. The case back has crisp engravings and hallmarks. The diamonds and settings remain near mint. The dial and hands are like new, with no cracks or fissures visible to the stone dial. The bracelet is fitted with 23 links, 6 of which are removable, and fits approximately a 7½” wrist. Comes complete with inner and outer boxes and warranty card.
Our Perspective
Showcasing how vibrant design and incredible craftsmanship can combine to create a wonderfully unique watch, this timepiece is a great reminder of how Piaget has been able to grow into the watchmaker and jeweler it has today in what is a relatively short period of time, compared to plenty of others in the industry at least.
