Founded in 2010, Ressence has become one of the most visually unique and technically innovative independent watchmakers of the last decade. As part of this drive to create visually novel timepieces, Ressence fit their timepieces with one of the most unique displays in all of watchmaking, a collection of small subdial satellites that rotate around the display as time passes. Expanding from their usual sources of inspiration, Ressence collaborated with Automobili Amos in 2020 on the Type 5X Automobili Amos, Ressence’s first motoring-focused timepiece. As such, the Type 5X Automobili Amos includes a host of new functions “dedicated to the passage of time and the functioning of turbocharged engines” and aesthetic tributes to Automobili Amos, such as its near-black dark olive green dial. Featuring a bezel that is divided into two parts to delineate between warming a car’s engine up in the first 15 minutes and cooling the turbos for 10 minutes and automotive-influenced subdials as directly inspired by the Lancia Delta Futurista’s graphics, the Type 5X Automobili Amos combines Ressence’s unique horological aesthetic codes with the automotive tradition of Automobili Amos and the incredible cars that they build perfectly. Made of titanium and limited to just 40 pieces, this is the perfect driver's watch for the watch collector seeking something out of the ordinary.
