However, in the last several years, the Daytona ref. 116509 has quickly become one of Rolex’s most sought-after and desirable Daytona variants, and for good reason. Offered in 18kt white gold, the ref. 116509 has been a mainstay within the Daytona collection since the third generation debuted in 2000, but the variant we have here features a truly stunning black diamond-set dial. Combining with the understated elegance of its 18kt white gold construction, this dial and metal pairing is one of those “if you know you know” aspects of high-end luxury watchmaking that so many collectors love. THE DIAL
Boasting a black dial to contrast the bright coolness of its 18kt white gold construction, this Daytona's brightest elements are its diamond-set hour markers that build upon the exclusivity of its gold construction in a subtle manner.
THE CONSTRUCTION
While the Daytona's ceramic bezel has become incredibly popular, the ref. 116509 retains an 18kt white gold bezel in keeping with the Daytona's signature aesthetic.

Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The white gold case shows light surface scratches and scuffs, with a more noticeable small nick visible on the front of the lower right lug, while the case back displays light surface marks. All hallmarks and stamps remain crisp. The bezel remains excellent, with a sharp chamfer to the edge and all black paint intact within the tachymeter scale. The dial and hands remain like new. It is fitted with a white gold solid-link Oyster bracelet showing surface scratches and negligible play between the links. The bracelet is fitted with 10 links, 4 of which are removable, and fits approximately a 7¼” wrist. Additionally, there are 2 links included. Comes complete with inner and outer boxes, warranty card, booklets, card holder, and chronometer tag.
