Introduction
A legendary timepiece with an unrivaled history, the Rolex Day-Date has earned its place as "The Ultimate Watch of Prestige" from its decades on the wrists of the world's most influential people. Released in 1956, the Day-Date quickly became synonymous with luxury, prestige, and exclusivity thanks to being the watch of choice for the world's athletes, visionaries, and world leaders alike. Only ever constructed of precious metals, the Day-Date's aesthetic is that of sheer elegance and grace. Aside from the beautiful array of dial options that have been available over the decades, the Day-Date's most iconic piece of design is its three-piece "Presidential" or "President" bracelet. Forming the bedrock of its construction, the Presidential bracelet has become synonymous with Rolex's flagship collection and their desire to create the very best and most iconic watches that the world has ever seen. With its timeless style and inescapable impact on horology, the Day-Date stands as a vivid reminder of just how successful they have been in realizing that very mission.

THE DIAL
Appearing just like any other black ref. 1803-era dial, this example's dial harbors a secret, its rare confetti effect, which combines a series blue, red, green, and white specks within its black surface.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Made of 18kt white gold and featuring an 18kt white gold fluted bezel, this example's construction combines with its black confetti dial to create an understated monochromatic aesthetic that is classical and entirely sophisticated.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
The watch is in overall excellent condition. The white gold case shows surface marks consistent with age and use, and one hallmark remains partially legible. The case back has some surface scratches, and the fluted bezel is still reasonably well defined. The black confetti dial is in excellent condition, with some damage to the lume dot at eleven. The minute hand shows a small area of missing lume. The watch is fitted with a black alligator strap and steel pin buckle, both in excellent condition. There is a chip in the crystal near the 33-minute marker.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
An rare and understated timepiece that combines an elegant 18kt white gold construction with a dial that is simply exceptional, this confetti dial ref. 1803 has everything one could want from a vintage Day-Date.
