Introduction
Famed as the base model that all of Rolex’s sports models use as their foundations, the Oyster Perpetual is an iconic watch that has a profound impact on horology. While its no-frills construction is utilitarian, its design is equally timeless and classic. With such a timeless design, the Oyster Perpetual has long been a collector favorite. Produced throughout the 1960s and 1970s, the ref. 1007 that we have here features the Oyster Perpetual’s signature 34mm stainless steel case with a stainless steel engine-turned bezel and a silver dial that features tall stick indices and minimal script. Offered on a stainless steel Oyster bracelet, the ref. 1007 retains Rolex’s essence as a tool watch maker, but with an understated and classy undertone thanks to its uncluttered appearance. Powered by the automatic cal. 1570 movement, the ref. 1007 is as robust and reliable on the inside as it is the outside.
