Introduction
Debuting in 1953 and released to the public the following year, the Rolex Submariner has undoubtedly become one of the most iconic timepieces of all time thanks to its legendary status as Rolex's flagship dive watch. Used extensively by the British Royal Navy and professional diving operations like COMEX, the Submariner set the bar for all dive watches to follow. Featuring a genuinely timeless design that has remained relatively unchanged throughout its history, the Rolex has become the archetypal sports watch. With very few large-scale aesthetic upgrades made to it over the years except for timely advancements like introducing a date function to the collection in the late '60s, and its modern cerachrom bezels, the Submariner is seen as the prototypical dive watch thanks to its consistency. The Submariner has earned its status as a legendary watch, with it today remaining as one of the most sought-after timepieces around.
Launched in 1990, the Rolex Submariner ref. 14060 is known as “the last of the best” due to its position as the last no-date Submariner to ever feature an aluminum bezel insert which is a major design details that remains rooted in vintage Rolex.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Featuring the Submariner's iconic stainless steel construction, this ref. 14060 boasts hollow end-links, a 'holes case', and hollow center links in its bracelet, which means it retains a strong vintage feel on the wrist.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case shows light surface scratches and marks, while the case back displays some light marks along with a couple of small dings. The bezel remains well defined, and the black insert is very clean. The tritium dial remains near mint, as do the hands. It is fitted with a solid-link Oyster bracelet showing surface marks and light play between the links. The bracelet is fitted with 11 links and fits approximately a 7½” wrist. Additionally, there is one link included. Comes complete with inner and outer boxes, Rolex service card and service pouch, booklets, hangtag, anchor, card document holder, and spare link in sealed packaging. This watch is under warranty with Rolex until April 2026.
Our Perspective
Sitting on the fence between modern and vintage Rolex, the ref. 14060 is a true transitional reference, with it standing as the last of its generation before Rolex went from aluminum bezel inserts, hollow bracelets and endlinks to the modern Submariner design that we are all familiar with today.
