While not traditionally known for boasting famed watchmakers like some other countries, Finland has undoubtedly found its way onto the map thanks to Sarapeneva - one of the most unique and distinctive independent watchmakers in the industry. Launched in 2023 to celebrate the brand’s 20th anniversary was a duo of watches, the Stardust and Stardust Nostromo, which is what we have here. Boasting the brand’s signature Korona case, with its distinctive shape made up of a blend of convex and concave lines, and multi-layered sector dial on steroids, the Stardust Nostromo, and its sibling, epitomise everything the brand has come to stand for over the last two decades. Made of Finnish-forged Outokumpu stainless steel and using alternating brushed and polished surfaces, the Stardust’s 42mm unique case stands only 10mm tall, allowing its unique shape to take center stage on the wrist, as its profile is not dominated by awkward proportions. Monochromatic in its aesthetic, the Stardust Nostromo’s DLC display creates a stealthy timepiece that is emblematic of Sarpaneva’s unusual sense of design and horological purpose.
