While watchmaking is dominated by a handful of Goliath-like brands, there are some independent microbrands that operate like David and offer services that those larger brands just can’t quite offer, like bespoke creations that are individual to the wearer. Founded in 2015 with a simple idea, Sartory Billard set out to design and create timepieces that capture and express the unique history and personality of their customers by offering their clients the ability to customize almost every piece of their watch, so long as the watch was from their range of references. Offered here we have the Sartory Billard x Horophile SB04, an automatic timepiece powered by the cal. STP3/13 that features a 40mm x 11.5mm case made of titanium that famed watch collector Amr Sindi, also known as Horophile on Instagram, designed in collaboration with Sartory Billard. Featuring a stunning flame-blued titanium dial that has turned purple and been polished to include an incredibly reflective surface, this variant was offered as a limited edition collection of just 20 pieces, 10 sold to the public and 10 to Horophile’s friends and family in early 2020 that were all snapped up, as you may imagine.

Watch is in excellent overall condition. There are minor signs of wear visible on the surface of the case and edges. The caseback has more visible wear, and some damage visible on the caseback screw heads. There is a visible abrasion on the back of the lower right lug as seen in the images.

A unique watch boasting a dial color that we don't often see in watchmaking, especially when you consider it was created through flame-blueing, the SB04 Horophile is an exquisite example of what can be achieved when the creative shackles are cast aside and a collector and independent watchmaker creates a timepiece as a labour of love.
