While watchmaking is dominated by a handful of Goliath-like brands, there are some independent microbrands that operate like David and offer services that those larger brands just can’t quite offer, like bespoke creations that are individual to the wearer. Founded in 2015 with a simple idea, Sartory Billard set out to design and create timepieces that capture and express the unique history and personality of their customers by offering their clients the ability to customize almost every piece of their watch, so long as the watch was from their range of references. Offered here we have the SB05 Uchū, a 38.5mm x 8.5mm manual-wind limited edition timepiece of 10 pieces created in collaboration with Revolution. Launched in 2024, the SB05 Uchū is made of stainless steel and features a truly stunning dial created using the traditional Japanese art of Maki-e. A decorative technique of imprinting design motifs in translucent lacquer, the SB05 Uchū’s dial was created by esteemed master artisan Tatsuya Todo, who goes by his artisan name Kosetsu. Featuring fragments of natural mother-of-pearl that were crushed by hand and then painstakingly placed before being encircled by a ring of aventurine which houses its chapter ring, the SB05 Uchū’s dial is truly exceptional.

Watch is in like-new condition, with only light signs of use or handling.
