Introduction
Launched in 1960 and produced until 1966, the Seiko Goldfeather was produced as one of the thinnest watches of its time. Made of 18kt yellow gold, its 8mm tall 35mm diameter case features a thin flat bezel and long lugs that combine to create its svelte design. Made possible by its manual-wind Seikosha cal. 60M movement, which only measures 2.95mm, the Goldfeather saw success as an intensely elegant dress watch at the height of the dress watch's popularity. Featuring a silver dial with minimal inscriptions, the Goldfeather's unassuming design is brought to life on its dial, where its entire design coalesces into one neat package.

THE DIAL
Featuring the same understated design as its construction, the Goldfeather's silver dial is restrained and minimally decorated, with just matter-of-fact inscriptions and applied golden indices.

THE CONSTRUCTION
Boasting an 8mm tall case thanks to its incredibly thin 2.95mm tall movement, the Goldfeather helped to usher in a new era for Seiko whereby their horological might was taken more seriously on the world stage.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in excellent overall condition. Case shows fine wear, but the numbers and hallmarks on the back are fully retained and visible. Some patina visible on the case edges. Original dial shows minimal aging and there is some visible scratches on the hands. Watch comes on a generic strap and a plated generic buckle. Caseback bears a logo for "FUJI BANK", and the watch was likely a presentation watch/ award.
Our Perspective
A technically impressive timepiece that showcases Seiko's talents as a genuine watchmaker, the Goldfeather helped the brand gain serious horological credentials.
