Introduction
TAG Heuer's longstanding relationship with motorsport makes the Formula 1 collection a natural platform for collaboration, and in 2020 the brand partnered for a second time with Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara and his Fragment Design label. Known for stripping familiar objects back to their essential elements, Fujiwara brought a distinctly restrained approach to the Formula 1, creating a monochromatic chronograph that combines TAG Heuer's racing heritage with Fragment's minimalist aesthetic.
Limited to just 500 pieces, this watch features a substantial 44mm stainless steel case, black ceramic tachymeter bezel and black dial with contrasting white graphics and Fragment's distinctive lightning-bolt logo. Inside is TAG Heuer's automatic calibre Heuer 02, an integrated chronograph movement offering an impressive 80-hour power reserve. Paired with its stainless steel bracelet, the result is a particularly clean and collectible interpretation of the Formula 1 chronograph.

THE DIAL
Fujiwara's minimalist approach is immediately apparent on the black dial, where crisp white markings create a highly legible monochromatic display. The bi-compax chronograph layout places the registers at 3 and 9 o'clock, while Fragment Design's lightning-bolt motif provides a subtle signature to distinguish this limited edition from the standard Formula 1.
THE CONSTRUCTION
The 44mm stainless steel case combines brushed and polished surfaces with a fixed black ceramic tachymeter bezel, creating a purposeful motorsport-inspired aesthetic. Water-resistant to 100 metres and fitted with a matching stainless steel bracelet, the watch retains the robust construction expected of the Formula 1 collection while Fujiwara's restrained detailing gives it an unusually understated character.

Condition
Watch is in overall like-new condition. The case shows only light signs of wear or handling. The bracelet is fitted with 15 links, 5 of which are removable, and fits approximately a 7¼” wrist. There are 4 spare links included.
Our Perspective
Hiroshi Fujiwara's restrained design language works particularly well with TAG Heuer's motorsport heritage, turning the traditionally bold Formula 1 into something cleaner and more sophisticated without losing its sporting character. Limited to only 500 examples and powered by the impressive Heuer 02 chronograph calibre, it is one of the more distinctive Formula 1 collaborations of recent years.
