Introduction

Since its introduction in 2012, the Tudor Black Bay has become the cornerstone of the modern Tudor collection, successfully reinterpreting the brand's historic dive watches for a new generation of collectors. Drawing heavily from early references such as the Submariner 7922 and, later, the celebrated 1958 "Big Crown" reference 7924, the Black Bay Fifty-Eight distilled Tudor's vintage design language into a slimmer, more wearable 39mm case while retaining the robust construction and manufacture movement expected of a contemporary professional dive watch. Its blend of historical authenticity and everyday practicality has made it one of the defining sports watches of the modern era.

Produced in 2023, the Rowing Blazers Limited Edition is among the rarest variations of the Black Bay Fifty-Eight. Created in collaboration with the American clothing brand founded by Jack Carlson, with design input from noted collector Eric Wind, the watch was never offered for public sale. Instead, it was produced in fewer than 100 individually personalised examples exclusively for friends and family of the brand. Based on the standard Black Bay Fifty-Eight, the watch replaces the customary chronometer text with Rowing Blazers' distinctive pink "Neon Noir" logo inspired by 1980s graphic design, while each case back is engraved with a Latin motto and personalised with the owner's initials. Combining one of Tudor's most successful modern references with an exceptionally exclusive private-order collaboration, the Rowing Blazers edition has become one of the most elusive contemporary Tudor watches.

THE DIAL

THE DIAL

The familiar gilt-accented Black Bay Fifty-Eight dial is transformed by the addition of Rowing Blazers' distinctive pink "Neon Noir" logo, replacing the standard chronometer and depth-rating text. Inspired by 1980s graphic design, the vivid splash of colour creates a striking contrast against the otherwise classic vintage-inspired layout.

THE CONSTRUCTION

THE CONSTRUCTION

The 39mm stainless steel case retains the proportions that have made the Black Bay Fifty-Eight such a success, pairing a slim profile with 200 metres of water resistance and a domed sapphire crystal. Completing the collaboration is a specially engraved case back featuring the Latin phrase Aut viam inveniam aut faciam, "I shall either find a way or make one", together with personalised owner initials, making every example unique.

Condition

Watch is in overall near-mint condition. The steel case shows a few light signs of careful wear. The case back is clean and retains well-defined engravings. The bezel is in near-mint condition, and the insert is spotless. The dial and hands are like new. The bracelet is fitted with 12 links and fits approximately a 7½” wrist. There is 1 spare link included. Comes with the inner and outer boxes, warranty card, two booklets, numbered hangtag and Rowing Blazers paperwork. There is a 3 letter personalization on the center of the caseback that has been obscured in the images.

Our Perspective

Private-order Tudor watches have become one of the most fascinating collecting categories of the modern era, and few are as exclusive as the Rowing Blazers edition. Never publicly available and produced in fewer than one hundred examples, it combines the enduring appeal of the Black Bay Fifty-Eight with genuine rarity and an unusual collaboration that bridges the worlds of fashion, design and horology.
