Introduction

Since its introduction in 2012, the Tudor Black Bay has become the cornerstone of the modern Tudor collection, successfully reinterpreting the brand's historic dive watches for a new generation of collectors. Drawing inspiration from early Submariner references, particularly the celebrated 1958 Big Crown ref. 7924, the Black Bay 58 was introduced in 2018 to mark the 60th anniversary of that important vintage model. Its 39mm case, gilt-accented dial and vintage-inspired proportions captured the character of Tudor's early diving watches while incorporating the reliability and performance of contemporary manufacture movements. The result was a watch that quickly established itself as one of the most popular models in Tudor's modern collection.

Produced in 2023, this Rowing Blazers Limited Edition is among the most unusual contemporary variations of the Black Bay 58. Created in collaboration with the American clothing brand founded by Jack Carlson, with design input from noted watch collector Eric Wind, the edition was produced exclusively for friends and family of the brand and was never offered for public sale. Fewer than 100 examples are understood to have been made, each individually personalised with the owner's initials engraved on the case back (redacted in the photos for consignor privacy). The familiar black and gilt dial is distinguished by Rowing Blazers' vivid pink Neon Noir logo, inspired by 1980s graphic design, which replaces the standard chronometer and depth-rating inscriptions. A special case back engraving featuring a Latin motto completes the collaboration.

THE DIAL

THE DIAL

The black dial retains the familiar gilt accents, applied hour markers and Snowflake hands of the Black Bay 58. Its defining feature is the distinctive pink Rowing Blazers Neon Noir logo positioned above six o'clock, replacing the standard chronometer and depth-rating inscriptions. Inspired by 1980s graphic design, the unusual signature provides a striking contrast to the otherwise traditional Tudor dive watch aesthetic.

THE CONSTRUCTION

THE CONSTRUCTION

The 39mm stainless steel case retains the proportions of the standard Black Bay Fifty-Eight, featuring a unidirectional rotating bezel, domed sapphire crystal and 200 metres of water resistance. The specially engraved case back bears the Latin motto Aut viam inveniam aut faciam, meaning “I shall either find a way or make one”, alongside the original owner's initials.

Our Perspective

Produced in fewer than 100 examples and never offered for public sale, the Rowing Blazers Black Bay Fifty-Eight is a fascinating modern Tudor rarity. Its distinctive pink dial signature and individually personalised case back make it a particularly collectible private-order edition.
