Launched in the 1960s and produced in its now-vintage form until the late 1980s, the Tudor Ranger was a robust field watch inspired by its cousin, the Rolex Explorer. Re-introduced in 2014, the Ranger’s role in Tudor’s history as a sports watch watchmaker cannot be overlooked. Sporting a 34mm stainless steel Rolex-signed case, caseback, crown, and bracelet, the Ranger’s construction was infamously robust for its day. Featuring a black dial with a 12-6-9 dial arrangement and a cyclops lens over its date window, the Ranger ref. 9050/0 offered an additional and valuable utility that the time-only Rolex Explorer and its predecessor time-only Ranger variants did not feature - a date display. However, like so many watches, the Ranger’s evolution certainly didn’t end when it wsas re-introduced, and so in 2022 Tudor launched a new Ranger design with the ref. 79950. Boasting the same field watch design as before, this new variant features a 39mm stainless steel case with the same rugged aesthetics, iconic shovel hands and black 3-6-9-12 dial. Watch is in near-mint condition. The plastic on the watch case and bracelet is mostly intact, and the watch shows minimal signs of wear. Bracelet has 9 links total, 1 of which are removable. It fits a 6 1/2" wrist.
