Introduction
The Tudor Submariner occupies one of the most important positions in the history of professional dive watches. Introduced in 1954, just a year after the Rolex Submariner, it shared the same Oyster case, crown and bracelet architecture while employing robust Swiss movements sourced from ETA. This combination delivered the durability expected of a professional diving instrument at a more accessible price, leading to widespread adoption by military forces around the world, including the French Marine Nationale, South African Navy and numerous specialist diving units. Today, vintage Tudor Submariners have developed a devoted following in their own right, no longer viewed simply as the younger sibling to Rolex.
Introduced in 1976, the reference 94110 represents one of the defining Snowflake Submariners. Powered by the automatic ETA 2784 calibre, it paired Tudor's now-iconic angular handset with distinctive square hour markers, creating one of the most recognisable dial designs in the brand's history. Produced in both black and blue, the blue variant has become particularly desirable, thanks to its rich monochromatic appearance and the beautiful patina many examples have developed over the decades. More than simply a vintage dive watch, the 94110 marks the period when Tudor established an unmistakable design identity of its own, one that continues to influence the modern Black Bay collection today.

THE DIAL
The matte blue Snowflake dial is one of Tudor's most enduring designs, distinguished by its square hour markers and angular Snowflake hands. Developed to improve underwater legibility, this bold aesthetic has become synonymous with vintage Tudor collecting.

THE CONSTRUCTION
The 40mm Oyster case provides the rugged foundation expected of a professional dive watch, while the blue elapsed-time bezel reinforces the distinctive monochromatic appearance of the reference.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT
This reading was taken (crown down) with a ONEOF Accuracy Boutique Edition timing machine at time of cataloging. It is provided as a courtesy only, and shall not be construed as a warranty or guarantee of any kind. Please refer to our terms and conditions of sale for more information.
Condition
Watch is in overall excellent condition. The steel case shows surface scratches and light nicks, as expected of a tool watch of this vintage, and has signs of a previous polish. The case back has surface scratches and retains reasonably well-defined engravings. The bezel remains well defined and is fitted with a nicely faded blue insert. The dial is excellent, with a couple of small surface marks. The hour and minute hands have a significant amount of lume missing. It is fitted with a leather strap and a steel pin buckle.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
The reference 94110 represents the moment Tudor truly stepped out from Rolex's shadow. While its construction remained closely tied to its sister brand, the Snowflake dial gave the Submariner an unmistakable identity that has become one of the most celebrated designs in vintage tool-watch collecting. Combining genuine military heritage, outstanding functionality and timeless proportions, the Blue Snowflake remains one of the cornerstones of any serious Tudor collection.
