While the brand is filled with historical prestige and wonder, its modern counterpart arose in the late 1970s when Peter Baumberger was permitted to sign his watches as Jurgensen & Sonner, later going on to buy the brand in 1985 before eventually selling the brand to a group of investors led by esteemed watchmaking royalty Kari Voutilaenen in 2021. Speaking to that same design language, the Urban Jurgensen ref. 1140 that we have here is a beautiful interpretation of Urban Jurgensen's historical lineage while also speaking to modern tastes. Launched in 2017 and limited to just 20 units, the ref 1140 is a classically designed timepiece with its 18kt rose gold construction that boasts a stunning stepped bezel design and soldered-on teardrop lugs. Additionally, the ref. 1140 also features a brown hand-finished guilloche dial with applied Breguet numerals and two-tone blued steel and 18kt rose gold hands that showcase just how much attention to detail was put into this entire timepiece.
