Introduction
The world of independent watchmaking is a colorful place with hundreds of brands all vying to create some of the most unique and wonderful watches the industry has seen. Natuarally, some brands have proven to be more successful than others, one such brand being Urwerk. Founded in 1997 by Martin Frei and Felix Baumgartner, Urwerk’s mission has always been to create Haute Horlogerie timepieces that fuse their love of traditional watchmaking with a futuristic aesthetic that seems to have been lifted straight out of a sci-fi novel. With their distinctive case shapes and signature satellite hour markers, their timepieces have become some of horology’s most sought-after watches, one such being the model we have here, the UR-111C Iron. Launched in 2018 as part of the brand’s “Special Projects” line, the UR-111C introduced a new design language to Urwerk’s catalog while still feeling distinctly Urwerk in its execution. Lacking the brand’s signature satellite hour markers, the UR-111C still retains an imaginative time display made of a unique central retrograde minutes display which is then flanked by two rotating cones, one of which is another minutes display, on the right, and then an hours display on the left. Furthermore, a digital seconds display can be found on top of the case towards the back, which is enhanced by optic fibers to act as a magnifier. An unconventional display within an unconventional case, the UR-111C’s 42mm wide x 46mm long gunmetal grey stainless steel ensures that the UR-111C is a tremendously sleek watch that merges Urkwerk’s modernity with their heritage as one of the most impressive and pioneering independent watchmakers of the last several decades.

Retaining Urwerk's signature type of time-telling, the UR-111C's use of rotating barrels to tell the time instead of their typical satellite markers speaks to their desire to create timepieces that function in a way that is full of their distinctly unique personality.

Made of stainless steel with a gunmetal grey finish, the UR-111C's case construction is immediately unique in colour, not just its shape and design, which ensures that it wears with a wrist presence befitting of Urwerk's unique execution and inspiration.

Watch is in overall near-mint condition. The case shows light signs of wear, while the dial and hands remain like new. Comes complete with inner and outer boxes, warranty paper, booklet and travel pouch.
