Introduction
First launched in 1996, the Vacheron Constantin Overseas was the revival of the 222, Vacheron's original sports watch. Like many other iconic timepieces, the Overseas has evolved over the decades and as a result currently has three distinct generations under its belt. The current generation was released in 2016 with some aesthetic design elements borrowed from previous generations, while also including modern creature comforts and luxuries that Vacheron have pioneered. Engineered with an innovative quick-release functionality, the Overseas’ incredibly robust Maltese cross-inspired integrated bracelet can be swapped for either of the two straps provided with the watch; a suave Mississippiensis alligator leather strap or sporty textured rubber strap. Furthermore, the Overseas' bracelet features an incredible extension system on either side of its hidden butterfly clasp that can provide 2mm on either side of the bracelet's partition.
Dedicated to going the extra mile, the VC Overseas ref. 4500V features one of the most incredible dials in all of watchmaking. A jet black lacquered dial with white gold indices and silver contrasting logos, this dial provides a monochromatic edge to their Overseas' aesthetic while also being extremely legible with two separate chapter rings, one for the minutes along the dial periphery and one for seconds along the rehaut. Featuring satin-brushed finishing along the majority of its 41mm x 11mm case, the Overseas' polished sides and Maltese cross bezel both pop in conjunction with the incredible black dial. Powered by the stunning in-house automatic cal. 5500 movement, the Overseas ref. 4500V features a 22k gold oscillating weight, 60 hours of power reserve and a myriad of finishing techniques, all of which are on display behind the Overseas' sapphire crystal exhibition screw-down caseback that ensures the ref. 4500V is as beautiful from the back as it is the front.

THE DIAL
Featuring a stunning jet-black glossy dial with applied hour markers and only a date function at 3 o'clock to hinder its symmetry, the Overseas merges simplicity with utility to create a display that is intensely legible and equally pleasing on the eye.

THE CONSTRUCTION
With its Maltese-cross-inspired bracelet and bezel, the Overseas' tonneau-shaped case features a unique aesthetic on the wrist as Vacheron decided to explore a non-traditional form for a sports watch and inject some elegance into the collection's design.
