Introduction
Vacheron Constantin has evolved over the years from their position in the shadows of their fellow "Holy Trinity" members, Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe, to a watchmaker that is revered throughout the entire watchmaking industry. Crucial to this development was their attractive dress watches like the example we have here with its stunning rhodium grey dial and beautiful 26.5mm 18kt white gold construction. While most high-end brands typically focus on creating round dress watches, there has always been room for watchmakers to experiment with timepieces that break from that convention in some way, shape or form, and shape is how the example that we have here breaks from that convention. Gently rectangular in shape, this case boasts sharp corners and a pronounced bezel with 45 degree points at each corner, this example fills the wrist but remains incredibly neat when worn thanks to its svelte sizing. With a consistent polished finish across its front surfaces, this example’s horizontally-brushed midcase showcases Vacheron’s attention to detail. Set apart from the typical circular dress watches of its era in aesthetics, this example indeed matches its peers in specs with its and manual-wind movement, which was certainly to be expected at the time for a dress watch.

TIMING MACHINE READOUT

Condition
Watch is in very good vintage condition. Case is sharp and has crisp edges and nice brushed sides along the lugs. Hallmark visible and crisp. The original dial has been refinished at some point and has wear and aging visible along the edge and surface, with some oxidation on the applied markers.
Please Note: Due to CITES considerations, if the watch is to be shipped outside of the USA, the exotic skin strap will have to be removed.
Our Perspective
A dress watch that speaks to today's fashion sense whereby angular timepieces and rectangular dress watches are becoming all the more popular, this Vacheron Constantin offers the perfect opportunity to add a vintage watch that is ready to be worn right away to one's collection.
