In the same way that Grand Seiko was launched to remind the watch industry that Switzerland does not have a monopoly on craftsmanship, Venezianico was launched in 2017 by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli to bring Venetian craftsmanship to the watchmaking industry. Offered in 2026 as an updated take on their Utopia, the watch that we have here is the Redentore Utopia II, which is the brand’s next step to creating a Made in Italy watch. Boasting the same 38mm x 8.9mm stainless steel case as the Utopia, the Utopia II is powered by the manual-wind cal. V5001, which is an updated version of the brand’s initial in-house movement that is 3.5mm thin, finished with 24-carat gold galvanisation and double-snailed gear wheels, and offers 60 hours of power reserve. Boasting a guilloche dial with a gold galvanic finish engraved on a 19th-century rose engine lathe by Linda Renzetti, daughter of the master engraver behind the original Utopia, the Utopia II’s display features a depth that can only be captured in person, much like its beauty from its exhibition caseback.

Watch is in overall near-mint condition. The steel case shows a couple of signs of careful wear, including a small scratch to the edge of the upper crown guard. The dial and hands are like new. It is fitted with a black leather strap and a steel pin buckle, both in near-mint condition. Comes with the box, warranty certificate and booklet.

Packing an impressive amount of craftsmanship within its relatively compact construction, the Utopia II combines a beautiful guilloche dial with a wonderful Italian movement that results in a watch that can be appreciated from the front and back in equal measure.
