Created as a labour of love by Thomas van Straaten, a watch writer and editor, who sought to create the best-made GADA-style watch he possibly could under his own brand, the VPC Type 37HW was launched in 2024 as a delightfully attractive and exceedingly well-made timepiece that could handle just about anything throw its way. Featuring a casual design with a sporty execution that is incredibly scratch resistant thanks to its coated stainless steel 37mm construction that is almost as hard as sapphire crystal (1800 Vickers compared to sapphire crystal’s 2000 Vickers rating), the 37HW is a watch that combines the very best of modern watchmaking manufacturing techniques with vintage styling. Boasting a dove grey dial with dauphine hands and applied triangular indices, the resulting aesthetic is that of luxury and careful refinement. Powered by a manual-wind Sellita cal. SW216-1 that allows the case to come in at 9.8mm of thickness, the resulting watch is a carefully designed and thoughtfully-executed timepiece that exceeds the standards of its rivals, especially within the price range in which it competes.

Watch is in overall like-new condition. The case shows only light signs of wear. Comes complete with box and papers. Please note that the watch ticks at time of cataloging, but timekeeping is poor and a service is recommended.

Limited to only 100 pieces and released alongside two other dial color options, the 37HW was launched to a rather warm reception by the industry thanks to its appealing design and array of carefully considered details.
