Introduction
While they might be best-known for their fashion offerings such as shoes, bags, belts, and ready-to-wear, Yves Saint-Laurent has also been known to dabble in other industries, such as the watchmaking industry, as evidenced by the YSL ‘Reverso’ that we have here. Offered in the 1970s as YSL take on the iconic JLC Reverso, the YSL ‘Reverso’ features an 18kt yellow gold 35mm x 21mm case that sports the same reversible case design as the Reverso. However, its main points of differentiation come in the shape of its stepped lugs and understated white dial, that is free from any branding or embellishments besides its minute scale, 12-3-6-9 layout and Paris signature. Manually-wound and offered on its original YSL leather strap and 18kt yellow gold buckle, this is one stylish obscurity that vintage collectors are sure to be excited by.

THE DIAL
Free from any branding and featuring a rather understated aesthetic in general, the YSL Reverso's white dial only features a railroad-style minute track and Paris inscription at 6 o'clock.
THE CONSTRUCTION
Sporting a reversible design and elegantly stepped lugs, the YSL Reverso's case is both classical and elegant.

Condition
Watch is overall in excellent condition. The yellow gold case has some surface scratches, but the case profile remains very strong. There are some nicks on the crown side in the seam where the case opens. There is also some oxidation around the edge of the crystal. The case back has very well-defined engravings and hallmarks, with some scratches and marks. The dial is excellent, with a couple of minor marks and very clean blackened hands. The watch is fitted with its original YSL leather strap with a yellow gold clasp in excellent condition. Please note that the watch ticks at the time of cataloging, but timekeeping is poor and a service is recommended.
