Introduction
Arguably one of the most famous chronograph makers in all of horology, Zenith is best-known for their El Primero automatic chronograph movement. From its status as one of the first automatic chronograph movements ever made (depending on who you ask) and the base movement to feature within the second-generation Rolex Daytona, the El Primero is certainly a modern-day icon. Launched in 1969, its incredible hi-beat rate, amazing accuracy and technical prowess ensured that any watch it was inside was one of the best chronographs money could buy. Offered here we have the Zenith Chronomaster Sport 95.3100.3600/39.M3100 that was debuted in 2024 with a slew of modern design elements that have been combined with heritage-based elements to create a watch that appeals to modern collectors’ requirements for a luxury timepiece while speaking to thoughtful design. As such, the Chronomaster features a grey dial to match its titanium construction with tri-color subdials across the spectrum of grey with a bright silver, a light grey, and a dark grey, in keeping with the aesthetic that Zenith pioneered decades ago. Furthermore, it features pump-style chronograph pushers and their legendary El Primero chronograph movement that can measure to 1/10th of a second. In addition to everything, this timepiece sports a titaniym 41mm case, a stainless titanium bezel and a robust titanium bracelet that can safely tackle any wear and tear - as modern collectors have come to expect – but with a lightweighted feeling that is both surprising and comfortable.

THE DIAL
Featuring a dark silver dial, the Chronomaster's bright silver, grey, and dark anthracite tri-color subdials stand out only thanks to their concentric guilloche engraving and stepped design, with their color only being a subtle difference from what surrounds them.

THE CONSTRUCTION
As in keeping with modern requirements, the Chronomaster's lightweight 41mm titanium case wears fantastically on the wrist with its 13.8mm height ensuring that it wears compact for a high-frequency chronograph that features a date function and exhibition caseback.

Our Perspective
A legendary piece of the watchmaking industry in ways that not many watches can compete with, the El Primero movement has become an industry icon that requires a special watch to do it justice, and the Chronomaster succeeds in showcasing its legendary status. Launched in 2024 with some updates, such as its new silver dial and titanium bezel replacing the ceramic bezel on its siblings, this is one stylish and historically important watch.
